Faith in Our Father Luke 15:11-23

What is Faith in a person?
To trust someone to do
To believe someone
To have confidence to be what is claimed

What is faith?
Everyone has faith in something or someone
No one is faithless
The mariners called on their god-Jonah 1:5, Jabez called on the God of Israel- 1 Chronicles 4:10
Who do you call upon/what do you have faith in?

Faith in our Father

Faith in the Father grants access – Luke 15: 12, John 16: 23-24, Gal 5:1
1 John 5:14 – ”This is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to His will, he listens to us.”
Haggai 2:8 – “The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine, says the Lord of hosts.
Possession > Prosperity > Prosperity

Luke 15: 13
Every journey without the father’s company will end up with the swine, in humiliation and shame.
Sin will take you further than you want to go and cost you more than you can afford to pay. Luke 15:13

Faith in the Father produces confidence and action
“In the devils’ country nothing is given, everything must be bought; and bought at a terrible price”.
The word “arise” tells us that the journey to God is always upward, while that with satan is always downward.

Faith in the Father brings hope of reconciliation
Rev 22: 17, Luke 15:20
The father has long ago made provision for your reconciliation through his son Jesus. John 3:16

Good news – the Father is waiting to restore you to your place of honor and dignity.
2 Corinth 5:21 – “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him”.

Matt 11:28 “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
“My peace I give to you, not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid – Jn 14: 27
When He is in the boat, safety is assured

How do I maintain my Faith in the Father
Desire to always be in the company of the Father – Luke 10:42
Be careful of faith killers – John 20:27
Ask the Father to help your Faith – Mark 9:24
Constantly hear and confess his word – Luke 11: 27-28
Choose to believe the Word of God regardless of your emotions – Rms 1:17, Mark 9:23, 2 Corinth 4: 13
