ASSURANCE OF YOUR
SALVATION
THE NEED FOR THE
Psalm 22:3 NKJV
[3] But You are holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel.

Psalm 103:10,12 NKJV
[10] He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor punished us according to our iniquities.
**[12] As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.

Romans 8:10-15 NKJV
[10] And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. [11] But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. [12] Therefore, brethren, we are debtors-not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. [13] For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. [14] For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. [15] For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”

Acts 2:21 NKJV
[21] And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the LORD Shall be saved.’

Acts 9:1-22 NKJV
[1] Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest [2] and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. [3] As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. [4] Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?” [5] And he said, “Who are You, Lord?” Then the Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads.” [6] So he, trembling and astonished, said, “Lord, what do You want me to do?” Then the Lord said to him, “Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.” [7] And the men who journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice but seeing no one. [8] Then Saul arose from the ground, and when his eyes were opened he saw no one. But they led him by the hand and brought him into Damascus. [9] And he was three days without sight, and neither ate nor drank. [10] Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias; and to him the Lord said in a vision, “Ananias.” And he said, “Here I am, Lord.” [11] So the Lord said to him, “Arise and go to the street called Straight, and inquire at the house of Judas for one called Saul of Tarsus, for behold, he is praying. [12] And in a vision he has seen a man named Ananias coming in and putting his hand on him, so that he might receive his sight.” [13] Then Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much harm he has done to Your saints in Jerusalem. [14] And here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on Your name.” [15] But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel. [16] For I will show him how many things he must suffer for My name’s sake.” [17] And Ananias went his way and entered the house; and laying his hands on him he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you came, has sent me that you may receive your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” [18] Immediately there fell from his eyes something like scales, and he received his sight at once; and he arose and was baptized. [19] So when he had received food, he was strengthened. Then Saul spent some days with the disciples at Damascus. [20] Immediately he preached the Christ in the synagogues, that He is the Son of God. [21] Then all who heard were amazed, and said, “Is this not he who destroyed those who called on this name in Jerusalem, and has come here for that purpose, so that he might bring them bound to the chief priests?” [22] But Saul increased all the more in strength, and confounded the Jews who dwelt in Damascus, proving that this Jesus is the Christ.

YES YES YES
CAN ONE BE SURE OF ONE’S SALVATION?
Paul wants us to be FULLY PERSUADED. Romans 8:38-39; 2 TIM. 1:12

The Apostle John. John 20:31; 1 John 5:13

  1. Romans 8:38-39 NKJV
[38] For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, [39] nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
    2 Timothy 1:12 NKJV
[12] For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.
  2. Luke 23:43 NKJV
[43] And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”
    John 5:24 NKJV
[24] “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.
    John 6:47 NKJV
[47] Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.

3 .1 Thessalonians 1:5 NKJV
[5] For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit and in much assurance, as you know what kind of men we were among you for your sake.
2 Timothy 3:14-15 NKJV
[14] But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, [15] and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
Hebrews 6:11-12 NKJV
[11] And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, [12] that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
1 John 3:19-20 NKJV
[19] And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him. [20] For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.

  1. John 20:31 NKJV
[31] but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.
    1 John 5:13 NKJV
[13] These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

“ABOVE ALL THINGS BEWARE OF LETTING YOUR TONGUE OUTRUN YOUR BRAINS”
~CHARLES SPURGEON

“Above all things beware of letting your tongue outrun your brains.”
From Spurgeon’s lecture to my students

If you trust in God, he will not, he cannot, fail you.

Matthew 16:25 NKJV
[25] For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.

So a clear and better way to say what I mean is that any lose of life after observing CDC Recommened guidelines in obeying God commands of Hebrew 10:25 is left to God’s sovereign power and rule.

Acts 9:13-18 NKJV
[13] Then Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much harm he has done to Your saints in Jerusalem.

If we’re going to do our work faithfully and abundantly — when I say abundantly, I have in mind 1 Corinthians 15:58: “Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” Do lots of it. We must not be paralyzed by perfection and infinity. I pulled this article out of my files that I put away in 1970. I pulled it out, and I reread it. The historian Arnold Toynbee said, “All human work is imperfect, because human nature is; and this intrinsic imperfection of human affairs cannot be overcome by procrastination.”

Daniel 3:25 NKJV
[25] “Look!” he answered, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.”

THERE ARE NO IFS, WHAT IFS, MAYBES, ANDS, OR BUTS TO OUR SALVATION.
~SEE JOHN 9:11-30
John 9:11-30 NKJV
[11] He answered and said, “A Man called Jesus made clay and anointed my eyes and said to me, ‘Go to the pool of Siloam and wash.’ So I went and washed, and I received sight.” [12] Then they said to him, “Where is He?” He said, “I do not know.” [13] They brought him who formerly was blind to the Pharisees. [14] Now it was a Sabbath when Jesus made the clay and opened his eyes. [15] Then the Pharisees also asked him again how he had received his sight. He said to them, “He put clay on my eyes, and I washed, and I see.” [16] Therefore some of the Pharisees said, “This Man is not from God, because He does not keep the Sabbath.” Others said, “How can a man who is a sinner do such signs?” And there was a division among them. [17] They said to the blind man again, “What do you say about Him because He opened your eyes?” He said, “He is a prophet.” [18] But the Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind and received his sight, until they called the parents of him who had received his sight. [19] And they asked them, saying, “Is this your son, who you say was born blind? How then does he now see?” [20] His parents answered them and said, “We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind; [21] but by what means he now sees we do not know, or who opened his eyes we do not know. He is of age; ask him. He will speak for himself.” [22] His parents said these things because they feared the Jews, for the Jews had agreed already that if anyone confessed that He was Christ, he would be put out of the synagogue. [23] Therefore his parents said, “He is of age; ask him.” [24] So they again called the man who was blind, and said to him, “Give God the glory! We know that this Man is a sinner.” [25] He answered and said, “Whether He is a sinner or not I do not know. One thing I know: that though I was blind, now I see.” [26] Then they said to him again, “What did He do to you? How did He open your eyes?” [27] He answered them, “I told you already, and you did not listen. Why do you want to hear it again? Do you also want to become His disciples?” [28] Then they reviled him and said, “You are His disciple, but we are Moses’ disciples. [29] We know that God spoke to Moses; as for this fellow, we do not know where He is from.” [30] The man answered and said to them, “Why, this is a marvelous thing, that you do not know where He is from; yet He has opened my eyes!

John 3:7-8 NKJV
[7] Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ [8] The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

Romans 10:9-11 NKJV
[9] that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. [10] For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. [11] For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”

John 5:24 NKJV
[24] “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.

John 3:36 NKJV
[36] He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

Romans 8:16-17 NKJV
[16] The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, [17] and if children, then heirs-heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.

Acts 16:31 NKJV
[31] So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

“EXAMINE YOURSELVES AS TO WHETHER YOU ARE IN THE FAITH. TEST YOURSELVES”
~SEE 2 COR. 13:5
2 Corinthians 13:5-6 NKJV
[5] Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?-unless indeed you are disqualified. [6] But I trust that you will know that we are not disqualified.

THE BIRTHMARK OF:
CHANGE
CHANGED LIFE. 1 JOHN 2:29; 2 COR. 5:17
HAS YOUR BEHAVIOR CHANGED SINCE YOU BELIEVED?
1 John 2:29 NKJV
[29] If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.

2 Corinthians 5:17-18 NKJV
[17] Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. [18] Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,

THE BIRTHMARK OF:
COMPASSION
CHRIST’S LOVE IN YOU. 1 JOHN 4:7-8; 3:14.
CHRIST LOVE FOR CHRISTIANS.
1 John 4:7-8 NKJV
[7] Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. [8] He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

1 John 3:14-15 NKJV
[14] We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death. [15] Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

THE BIRTHMARK OF:
CONFLICT
OVERCOMING FIGHT. 1 JOHN 5:4; 2:15-17; ROMANS 8:37; 2 COR. 2:14
1 John 5:4-5 NKJV
[4] For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith. [5] Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

1 John 2:15-17 NKJV
[15] Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. [16] For all that is in the world-the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life-is not of the Father but is of the world. [17] And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

Romans 8:37-39 NKJV
[37] Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. [38] For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, [39] nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

2 Corinthians 2:14 NKJV

James 3:2 NKJV
[2] For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body.

1 John 1:8-9 NKJV
[8] If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 3:4,9 NKJV
[4] Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. [9] Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.

John 10:27-29 NKJV
[27] My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. [28] And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. [29] My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.
